We hate the truth?

http://keyholepublishing.com/We_hate_truth.htm

So I was browsing the internet and I found the entry linked above.  I read it, and it made me think; made me think a lot.  And I just have a few questions for all of you.  Can answer one or all, I'm just really curious now!

But once they turned their attention away from the technology and directly to us, I think the most common reaction would be disgust: "I broke my back trying to create a better world, and ended up with ... you?"   This is one of the things that made me think the most honestly.  Why do you think the world has gotten to how it has?  Why do you think the people of the past would probably frown on what has been created around us?

All things must end, including our lives, including our civilization. When the big ship finally goes down, will it even be worth saving?  This question was raised in the writing... and it's a great one.  All things do come to an end.. and when our end comes, do you think that all that we have created will be worth saving?
As the article says, most humans aren't comfortable with the truth.. Why do you think that is so?
And my last question for you is:
As the article says, when we aren't doing anything,
Our minds tend to go to unpleasant thoughts...
Why do our minds go to these thoughts and questions that often upsets us?

Humans want to know all...

Lauren asked.... do you think that humans can "learn" free will?

I feel as humans, we want to know all; we want to know how we work, why we work, why things are the way they are, how things came to be, and so much more.
But I don't think that humans can learn free will.  Then again, I don't think that "free will" even really exists.

I think people like the idea of a free will to make them feel like we don't live in such a controlled/fixed world thanks to determinism.

As to answering if we can learn free will... I don't think so. Though humans want to learn as much as they can, I don' think it is possible to learn something that probably doesn't even exist.

We can learn about it, but physically learn it, conquer determinism, and escape our fate then control everything around us with our own decisions that have no thoughts, seems impossible.

Why do you think that humans so strongly want to believe that there is a such thing as free will?

Evolution?

Not going to lie, when I hear about something "evolving", the little kid in me thinks of Pokemon.

I often find myself thinking about the Theory of Evolution and Charles Darwin.  Why?  I'm not too sure.
I'm not sure if I fully believe this theory..
Yes, I believe that some species are the way they are due to evolution.
But I don't think that us as humans were "evolved" from primates.  Evolved from some state, yes, because humans aren't how they were a long time ago.
If humans were supposedly evolved from primates.. why are there still primates in existance?
That question is often raised, but what I want to know is If humans went through evolution, why haven't we changed massively and have records of it?  Will we go upon more transformations from evolution?

I think Darwin liked the idea of humans evolving from primates, because it formed an answer to how we were created.  But I don't quite understand how people 100% believe this theory.  Even people that I know that don't even practice a religion don't believe it fully, yet people say I don't believe the theory because of my religion.
I DO think that things evolve into other creatures, but I don't see how us humans come into play.  Most evolution comes to help the living things adapt to the ever-changing environment.
If we did evolve from primates, why aren't we still evolving?  Is it because we can change society to fit us so we don't have to adapt to the changes?

Why are we disturbed with differences?

I've learned that in life, people are simply not comfortable with differences or changes.  If it be color differences, cultural differences, or even differences such as mental disabilities.. most people simply do not accept them.
For example:
You are in school,
And you hear that there is a new kid at your school.
But when you see the new kid, you realize they are from a different country
And they look completely different from you,
Or they have a complete accent because they are from a different part of your country.
Knowing that they are different from you,
You and your friends decide not to befriend the new kid.
Fact:  I have been that new kid and been pushed aside because I was different.

If you are different, people tend to not accept those who are different from them... but no one really knows why.

Why do you think that people are uncomfortable with differences around them?

In response to Sam's question....

Why do you believe that the people of poorer countries are often happier then their counterparts in wealthier societies?

Thinking about this question honestly makes me happy.  America is one of the more wealthy countries in the world, and because of the wealth we are often seen as snobbish- in a way, we are.  Though some people have a sense of work ethic and such, most people can't appreciate the things that we have in our lives.  We complain about the smallest things, and we often say we "need" things, when it is a simple want.  But I feel the poorer countries are actually better off than people in America.  They work for all they have, and they cherish every bit that they have in their life.  And most are even thankful for the smallest things that they have!
I personally think that if you have nothing in life, and then you work your heart out to get something, you learn to cherish that along with everything else you earned.  Once you start getting wealthy and are able to get things easily, I feel that is when a person stops losing respect and value for their paraphernalia.

Why do you think that people value certain objects more than others in their lives?

In response to Shannon's Question

"Knowing that it is apart of human nature to sleep why is it then that we all don't sleep the same? And because it is apart of our nature why do some of us have sleeping disorder???"

I personally loved Shannon's blog about sleep, because I have sleeping disorders myself.  Sleep is totally one of my favorite things, well, when I actually fall asleep.  Sleep is a wonderful thing, that people experience less and less as they grow

Sleep is necessary for the development of the mind and the body, that is why I feel sleep is so important.

As to why people get different amounts of sleep.. there can be so different reasons.  Every body expends different amounts of energy, and need different amounts of rest to recover.  Also, every single body is totally different, so how much a body needs to recover is different.  I also feel sleeping disorders have come to existence because of deformities in the minds, and then reproducing causes it to be spread.

Question:  Why do you think certain people dream the way they do?  Why do you think nightmares come into existence?

Religion VS Medicine

I was randomly thinking an episode of House (probably because I have a poster of House on my wall in my room...) where a person resisted medical assistance because he was so into this religion.  He said "If God made me sick, God can heal me."
The episode ended up with him being perfectly fine and healed, only after being resuscitated many times and finally accepting medical help.

What I don't get is why people do that.  Yes, we have diseases and sickness in our world, but we also have DOCTORS and MEDICINE that was created so we can cure those things.  We have such ailments because Eve condemned everyone because she ate the apple.
Question:  If we weren't meant to seek medical attention for such ailments (or even take medication), why would they have been created in the first place?
